It took a lot of hardship in my life for me to finally make the connection. The connection between what I was experiencing in my life and what I actually believed, what I expected. Things like expecting to "catch" a cold in the winter, or just be sick in general. Or like expecting my body to decay and break down as I get older. Those ideas are completely from the Curse. As a New Creation in Christ, you've been redeemed from the Curse. But that isn't talked about or taught about enough.

Matthew 8 tells us the story of the Centurion and His Faith. I love this story because it tells us that Jesus was astonished by his Faith. And why was Jesus so astonished? Because the Centurion "got it". He understood that Jesus could speak a word where they were, and a healing could take place at a distance. He understood and respected Jesus' authority. Jesus sums it up and simply tells the centurion to go on his way, and as he believed it would be done to him.
Your belief, which is ultimately what you expect, is what you get in life. As you believe it's done to you. The problem is, most people don't really know what they believe/expect over life's deep, core issues. Like love, health, healing, wealth, joy, peace - all of it. So they start blaming germs or hormones, or other people, when actually, they've unknowingly played a part in all of the circumstances of their adult lives.
But being redeemed isn't just about being redeemed from Hell after you die. It's being redeemed from having to experience Hellish circumstances here in your life on Earth! This is where the Word of God comes in and why it's so powerful.

3rd John 2 talks about our lives prospering "even as" our Souls prosper. The way I look at it, life is like a teeter-totter. Remember those? A kid sits on either end going up and down, pushing off the ground. But if one kid is bigger and outweighs the other, no teeter, no totter. That bigger kids just outweighs the other.
That's what we want with our Faith. We want the Word of God to outweigh any other expectation; be it sickness or decay as we age. That's what Faith can do for you.
The thing about Faith is that it's like a servant, magnetizing God's Word into your life through Love. Faith can be compared to a runner, running a marathon. I really like that idea of Faith. Faith has to be heard, and then trained and stretched and strengthened and continually fed just like our physical bodies.
I've noticed that as I started to seek God first, my Faith started to have a greater appetite, a need to be fed throughout the day. It used to be that I could get away with a sermon on Sunday and a Quiet Time with God in the morning. Then I came to place where I needed all of that, plus a Faith "feeding" at lunch and in the evening. As I've made the transition to walking by Faith more and more I need more Word!
It took a few days for me to make the connection, but my Faith needs refueling to keep running, magnetizing, orchestrating; to stay in that Divine Alignment with God. My general rule of thumb now is when I feed my physical body, I feed my Faith with the Word of God.
Through Faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 11:3)

So what is this understanding that can only come by Faith? It's a foundational understanding that the source realm to our experiences here in the seen, in the natural world; is the Unseen. This links us right back to our souls prospering (3rd John 2). Meaning the prosperity of our lives here in the physical world hinges on something our physical senses can't detect.
The particular skill we want to work on here to develop that superpower of Faith, is the skill of Inner Focus, putting your Imagination to work for you:
"...we look not at the things which are seen, but the things which are Unseen; for the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are Unseen are eternal."(2 Corinth. 4:18)
We'll talk more about this in the next post, but I want you to re-read this and pray, and ask God for greater understanding.
Also remember that first and foremost the Bible is a Spiritual book. It's not a run-of-the-mill ordinary book. It's living and active and speaks of Truth and mysteries. We have to remember that as we read it.
Life is so much more than what our physical eyes can tell us.
